Sentry MCP

premium

Sentry MCP is a Model Context Protocol server that enables AI tools to securely access and interact with Sentry projects. It allows LLM clients to query issues, errors, performance traces, releases, and alerts using natural language, helping developers debug, investigate incidents, and understand application health directly from AI assistants.

Sentry MCP Specific Instructions

1. Clone or install the Sentry MCP server (self-hosted or managed implementation).
2. Generate a Sentry API token with read access to issues, events, and performance data.
3. Add the MCP configuration to your AI tool (e.g., Claude Desktop or Cursor MCP settings).
4. Configure organization slug, project slug(s), and authentication token.
5. Restart the AI client to load the MCP and verify connectivity.

Usage Notes

Help other developers understand when this MCP works best and where to be careful.

Known limitations / caveats:
High-volume projects can return large payloads; narrowing queries by time range or issue ID is recommended.
API rate limits may be hit when querying detailed event stacks or performance traces repeatedly.
Historical data access depends on the Sentry plan and data retention policy.
Tool-specific behavior:
Works best in Claude Desktop, where longer investigative conversations are common.
In Cursor, best suited for quick issue lookups rather than deep incident analysis.
Less effective with local models that have limited context windows.
